Hybodus Shark Coprolite (superb specimen)
This coprolite was found on the beach at Lyme Regis in 2021, and is most likely from a hybodus shark due to the coprolite being slightly spiralled. This coprolite contains several fish scales, so the shark must have been eating fish in the Jurassic oceans. Coprolites are fossilised faeces and have improved palaeontologist’s understanding on the lives of creatures by studying what they ate. Approximately 195 million years old.
Fossil dimensions: 7.5cm x 3.4cm x 2.2cm
