Partial Ichthyosaur Humerus

£18.00

This partial Ichthyosaur Humerus was found on the beach at Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset and displays the classic black colour that much of the marine reptile bone from Lyme Regis displays. This bone in particular is a limb bone and would have helped the creature to swim in the Jurassic oceans over 195 million years ago. The white “flecks” in the bone is where calcite has infilled the holes in the bone where the blood vessels would have been.

Fossil dimensions: 50mm x 40mm
