This large coprolite is a superb specimen and was found on the beach at Lyme Regis in 2024. It contains many fish scales including parts of the head and body from a dapedium and other fossil fish species, which shows that the creature was eating a lot of fish in the Jurassic oceans. This coprolite was found before the sea could damage it, and has been air abraded to bring out all the details. This Coprolite most likely comes from a marine reptile - either ichthyosaur or plesiosaur. Coprolites are fossilised faeces and have improved palaeontologist’s understanding on the lives of marine reptiles by studying what they ate. Approximately 195 million years old.

Fossil dimensions: 6.5cm x 3.8cm x 3cm
