Caenisites Ammonite
This ammonite was found on the beach at Charmouth on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset in 2021 and has been prepared mostly shell-on and has a lovely orange colour. Caenisites ammonites are a relatively uncommon species on the coastline and this ammonite in particular was found in what is known locally as a “popcorn stone”. There is also a large cymbites ammonite in the stone and a fragment from a microderoceras ammonite.
Approximately 195 million years old.
