Multi Promicroceras ammonite stone

£120.00
sold out

This stone was found on the beach at Charmouth on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset in 2021, and contains 19 individual promicroceras ammonites. These ammonites likely washed up together in a storm event in the Jurassic sea where stronger currents brought them in together, where they have remained for over 195 million years! Most of the ammonites have been prepared shell-off to reveal the yellow calcite colours beneath. Several also contain bite marks on the outer whorl where they were likely attacked and killed by another Jurassic sea creature.

Largest ammonite size: 20mm, smallest ammonite size: 7mm

Rock dimensions: 100mm x 90mm x 40mm
