Three Ichthyosaur Vertebrae
These 3 Ichthyosaur Vertebrae were found in 2024 on the beach at Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset. They are all likely to be tail vertebrae from different ichthyosaurs. The white “flecks” in the bone are where calcite has infilled the holes in the bone where blood vessels were. Ichthyosaurs has roughly 180 of these vertebrae in their body. Approximately 195 million years old.
