Promicroceras and Xipheroceras Ammonites

£45.00

This piece was found on the beach at Charmouth in 2022 and contains a good sized promicroceras ammonite and a small xipheroceras ammonite, along with 8 baby promicroceras ammonites together in a group. These fossils have all been preserved in the same stone with each other for over 196 million years, and have now been prepared so they see the light of day once again. The largest promicroceras ammonite has a bite mark on the outer whorl where it was likely attacked and killed by another predator in the ancient Jurassic seas. Found on the Jurassic Coast of Dorset, England. The rock has a cut-base so it can be displayed without a stand.

Fossil dimensions: largest: 24mm, smallest: 20mm

Rock dimensions: 9x5x2cm
