Marine Reptile Coprolite
This coprolite was found on the beach at Lyme Regis in 2024, and displays a great number of Jurassic fish scales within it, highlighting what the creature was eating in the Jurassic oceans. This Coprolite most likely comes from a marine reptile - either ichthyosaur or plesiosaur. Coprolites are fossilised faeces and have improved palaeontologist’s understanding on the lives of marine reptiles by studying what they ate. Approximately 195 million years old.
