This Ichthyosaur vertebrae was found on the beach at Lyme Regis in 2023 and likely comes from around the centre of the animal where the ribs are located. The white “flecks” in the bone are where calcite has infilled the holes in the bone where blood vessels were. Ichthyosaurs has roughly 180 of these vertebrae in their body. Approximately 195 million years old.
